SECTION OF SOUTH-EASTERN CHORD FROM ULITSA POLBINA TO KUR’YANOVSKY BULVAR IS HALFWAY COMPLETE
The construction of the section of the South-Eastern Chord from Ulitsa Polbina to Kur’yanovsky Bulvar is 50% complete. The structure was designed by “Mosproekt-3”, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of Companies.
“The Contractor has almost installed the trestles of the 382 meter long overpass bridge on the main road. The overpass will be constructed over Batyuninskaya Ulitsa, it is currently 70% complete. The end of concrete works is scheduled for August”, – said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
The overpass will provide an exit route to the local street and road network near Batyuninskiy Proyezd. According to Andrey Bochkarev, when designing and engineering the facility, The Group of companies Mosproekt-3 engineers took into account the fact that this current area is marked by the high density of communication network.
“The overpass at the South-Eastern Chord main road comes along Pererva Railway Depot. While working on this section, the main challenge was to construct the facility and not to destroy any underground communications so we had to choose an optimal size for the construction site. The construction is conducted under the safest conditions”, – said Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.
The top manager also added that engineers managed to keep transport capacity of the local street and road network near the South-Eastern Chord section at the same level as before the construction was started: “The span is installed by cranes with the a use of temporary bridge trestles”.
