NORTH ALTERNATE ROUTE OF KUTUZOVSKY PROSPEKT IS 18% COMPLETE

In the North alterate route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt there are operational works displayed to construct the main course of the highway, the ramps from Molodogvardeyskaya interchange and the bridge across the Moskva river. Apart from that, the operational works keep on being carried out to construct multi-level interchange of the new outbound highway with the Third Transport Circle, as well as to reconstruct Staro-Rublevsky flyover and the flyover in ulitsa Barklaya. The general designing engineer was “Mosproekt-3”, the company that forms a part of the so named Group of companies.

“Approximately 5 km of the main course of the alternate route is going to cross the engineering structures. Being critically close to the railway lines was the major challenge of the new highway, that is why the designing engineers converged the highway and the railway line which overall enabled to fit in the large-scale object into the existing development”, – Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

One of the key elements of the highway is going to be the arch bridge over the Moskva river in the area “Moscow City”. It is over 50% complete: 10 trestles are entirely complete, 24 out of 49 span beams have been installed. The engineering structure has been launched for 107 out of 198 metres.

“The bridge has got the span with complex geometry: the main course is going to have two lanes on the suburban route and three lanes on the way to “Moscow city”, including the accelerating lane for the ramp to Shelepikhinskaya Embankment. Our team applied the most advanced analysis methods to design and engineer the asymmetric structure. The specific geometry complicated the process of span launching as well”, – Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.

The “New concession company”, the Customer of the project, specified that construction of the highway is being done as scheduled: 30 construction sites are displayed along the entire line of the future highway, 608 manual workers and 101 engineering-technical employees are engaged, 106 machinery items are involved into work.

The new outbound highway is going to provide transport accessibility to the financial center «Moscow-City» and connect it via the MKAD (Moscow Circle Automobile Road) with the Northern Bypass of Odintsovo. The large-scale project is being implemented under a concession agreement and, as a result, the Northern Alternate Route is likely to become the first intra-city highway in Moscow within the public-private partnership.
