LAUNCHING OF THE CENTRAL SPAN OF THE BRIDGE ON ZIL WILL BE STARTED IN 2021
The spans of the bridge across the Moskva River, which is going to connect the complex development territories named “ZIL”, will start to be constructed this year. The bridge project was developed by Mosproekt-3, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.
“The new bridge will increase transport accessibility of the territory of the former industrial zone “ZIL”, which we actively develop together with investors. The engineering structure, which is nearly half a kilometer long, will be connected to the street-road network of residential zones under construction,” said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
The central span structure of the bridge will be constructed by the method of launching, using a 60 metre long launching nose. In this way it will be possible to avoid restrictions on vessels navigation on the Moskva River.
“The main span of the bridge, under which the navigation will take place, is designed from metal structures with an orthotropic plate of the traffic way. The use of metal structures enabled to provide the necessary dimensions for the passage of vessels. The spans of the “approaches” are designed and engineered from reinforced concrete beams combined into temperature-continuous span,” said Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.
A new mixed development district is being constructed on the site of the former territory of the ZIL Plant.
A giant school for 2500 pupils has already been constructed on the ZIL territory, other social infrastructure facilities are planned. A transport network is actively developed in the new district: the so named station of Moscow Central Circle and the central highway – Likhachev Prospekt, have already been constructed. In the future, a bridge will be constructed over the Novinki Backwater, which is going to connect the area with Andropova Prospekt, and will be extended to the area of Simonovskaya Embankment, by which it will be possible to reach the city centre. ZIL Platform will be connected with the new Biryulyovskaya Line, which will have a transfer to the Big Circle Line.
