Launching of main route overpass started at the third section of South-Eastern chord
Launching of the overpass span metal structures has started at the intersection between the South-Eastern chord and Volgogradsky prospekt. The project of the section of South-Eastern chord, running from Ulitsa Grayvoronovskaya to Shosseynaya Ulitsa, that focuses on the interchange construction, has been developed by the experts of Mosproekt-3, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.
“Three rigs were constructed to carry out the launching, the operational works on two of them have already begun. Approximately 27 thousand tons of metal structures are to be assembled at this stage,” – Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction, said.
Andrey Bochkarev stated that the engineers of the GC Mosproekt-3 had included into the project the technological solutions that enabled to minimize the effect of the construction works on the traffic of Volgogradsky prospect, one of the busiest outbound highways of Moscow, as well to integrate engineering structures in the dense development of the metropolis.
“The span structures running immediately above Volgogradsky prospekt are designed and engineered from the steel-concrete composite elements. That enables to assemble them nearby and launch into their designed and engineered position using very few temporary trestles. Apart from that, diameters of the piles of the interchange were selected individually to reduce their total number and make the foundation less bulky. As a result of this approach, we managed to fit in the object into the densely developed urban landscape: in the area of the intersection with Volgogradsky prospekt South-Eastern chord crosses the railroad tracks, the tunnels of the Big Circle line in progress and the ground section of Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line twice,” – said Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of Companies Mosproekt-3.
As a reminder, the project of the South-Eastern chord section running from Ulitsa Grayvoronovskaya to Shosseynaya ulitsa includes the construction and renovation of over 10 km of roads, 5 overpasses, as well.
