FOUR OVERPASSES WILL BE CONSTRUCTED WITHIN RECONSTRUCTION OF INTERCHANGE ON SHELEPIKHINSKAYA EMBANKMENT
Within the reconstruction of the interchange at the intersection of the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt, Shelepikhinskaya Naberezhnaya and Third Circle Road four new overpasses are going to be constructed. The project was developed by “Mosproekt-3” the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.
“The new multi-level transport interchange is being constructed in Presnensky District at the intersection of the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt, Shelepikhinskaya Embankment and Third Transport Circle. The interchange will provide free traffic flow to the Third Transport Circle (city center direction) and the access to Moscow City Business Center through Vtoroy Krasnogvardeysky Passage. It is planned to construct and reconstruct 9,7 km of roads. The operational works include overpasses and retaining walls construction, utility system laying, landscaping and planting in the nearby territory,” – said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
As the Deputy Mayor has previously highlighted, the construction process is divided in several stages, the construction works of the first stage, which included the reconstruction of Mukomolny and two passages in design progress – № 4571 and № 6680, are almost completed.
“The second stage covers 2 km long section and includes the construction of four overpasses: the exit ramp from the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt to Pervy Krasnogvardeysky Proyezd, the left-turn access road from Shelepikhinskaya Embankment to the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt, the exit ramp from the Third Transport Circle to the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt and the exit ramp from Shelepikhinskaya Embankment to the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt. Apart from that, it is planned to construct two pedestrian underpasses and an additional span of the railway bridge. Major construction works of the second stage will be completed this year,” – added the head of Moscow Complex for Urban Planning and Construction.
In order not to cause any train traffic disruption on Moscow Central Diametres (MCD), The Group of Companies Mosproekt-3 specialists decided to use incremental launching to erect artificial structures of the interchange.
“The new outbound road is located in close proximity to the railway lines, that is why our experts designed and engineered the bridge structures of the interchange at the intersection of the North Alternate Route of Kutuzovsky Prospekt and the Third Transport Circle to cover Smolenskoye Suburban Railway Line. We will be able to retain the intensive train traffic on the MCD as a result of the launching method when the span is constructed nearby and then during the “technological windows” on the railway it is transferred into its permanent position,” – highlighted Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.
The third stage will include the embankment reinforcement as well as roads, pavements and pedestrian crossings construction.
