ENGINEERS OF GC MOSPROEKT-3 AND TU GRAZ EXPERTS DISCUSSED PROSPECTIVE METHODS OF UNDERGROUND SPACE DEVELOPMENT
The Group of companies Mosproekt-3 experts and Austrian TU Graz took part in a joint educational programme. The event was held in cooperation with the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo.
Through the practical case studies, the engineers considered the project implementation stages and explored in detail the method of tunnel path selection on the basis of geotechnical assessment of the proposed corridor. The experts compared the approaches to the design and engineering of the tunnels of two European countries: Italian ADECO-RS and Austrian NATM.
“The new Austrian method of tunnelling called ‘NATM’ is a unique technology, the authors and world leaders of which are our colleagues from TU Graz. The achievements of the university can be developed from our knowledge and expertise base. NATM is one of the most complex but prospective mountain methods of tunneling. The new Austrian method is more flexible than the Italian technology and provides an opportunity to build tunnels in unstable rock zones,” said Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.
The Group of companies Mosproekt-3 pays thorough attention to the corporate training of the employees. The experts have the opportunity to upgrade their skills regularly on the basis of the world’s leading companies and educational institutions. In particular, the Group of companies implemented a corporate programme on the issue of karst phenomena in 2020.
