NORTH-EASTERN CHORD SECTION FROM DMITROVSKOYE TO YAROSLAVSKOYE SHOSSE IS HALFWAY COMPLETE
The North-Eastern Chord section from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye shosse is 50% complete. The project of the section was designed and engineered by Mosproekt-3, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.
The new highway with no traffic lights will continue the existing section of the Chord at the “Likhobory” Station area, then will go along Moscow Central Circle (MCC) lines, cross Dmitrovskoye and Altufyevskoye shosse and finally reach Prospekt Mira Street.
“The overpass trestles are currently under construction, as well as the span metal structures and the ground section of the main route. The section from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye shosse is planned to be opened by the next year,” – said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
Unique conditions at one of the stages in this chord section made the engineers of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3 develop nonstandard solutions. Long span structure over the MCC lines will be constructed without any traffic interruption.
“2,4 km long main route overpass crosses two Moscow Suburban Railway lines and goes along the MCC. In order not to cause any traffic interruption, our experts provided the temporary restructure of the railway lines. For the construction period, the new temporary tracks were laid for this purpose. Thus, we will be able to construct the overpass in the safest and the most effective way”, – explained Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.
