THE TRAFFIC IS OPEN ON THE NEW SECTIONS OF NORTH-EASTERN CHORD

North-Eastern chord is extended from Otkrytoye shosse up to Yaroslavskoye shosse: 12,4 km of roads have been constructed on the new sections, including six overpasses and a flyover through Moscow Central Circle. The traffic was released by Sergei Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow. The company Mosproekt-3 was the General Designing Engineer of the interchange of North-Eastern Chord with Prospekt Mira.

“North-Eastern chord is the largest urban highway. It connects seven key highways of the city, taking its course from Businovskaya interchange up to Kosinskaya, from St. Petersburgh toll highway to the under construction highway for Kazan. Today two more sections that connect Otkrytoye and Yaroslavskoye shosse are open. There is one more section left. This is the section that connects Dmitrovskoye and Yaroslavskoye shosse, the one we are to release next year, so then North-Eastern chord will be complete”, – Sergei Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow.

Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction clarified that 22 km of roads and 10 engineering structures are currently being constructed on the section of North-Eastern chord between Yaroslavskoye and Dmitrovskoye shosse, the design and engineering of which was also developed by GC Mosproekt-3.

“We carry on working to construct the bridge over the Likhoborka river, by the end of autumn we intend to complete the works on Susokolovsky flyover, which today is nearly complete. We also keep on span launching of the overpass in the section of ramp from North-Eastern chord towards Altufyevskoye shosse”, – the head of Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction.

GC Mosproekt-3 is the key member of the project on creation of the speed chord highways system, thus, in particular, the experts of the Group of companies designed and engineered approximately 2/3 of North-Eastern chord. According to Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3, throughout its entire way the highway goes very close to the railway tracks, including Moscow Central Circle. The team of the Group of companies had to apply various techniques of chord engineering structures launching as well as temporarily redevelop the tracks since the railway traffic could not be ceased.

As a reminder, North-Eastern chord is 80% complete. The new highway will have been released by 2023.
