LONGEST OVERPASS OF NORTH-EASTERN CHORD IS 70% COMPLETE

The longest overpass of the North-eastern Chord is 70% complete. The structure was designed and engineered the experts of “Mosproekt-3”, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.

“The 2,4 km long overpass is now being constructed on the exit road from the existing section of the North-Eastern Chord to Altufyevskoye shosse. We are starting another launching of span metal structures over the Oktyabrskaya Suburban Railway Line and along the Moscow Central Circle line“, – said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

According to Andrey Bochkarev, during the construction the experts of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3 applied the safest and the most appropriate technology in order not to interrupt the train traffic.

“The 500 m section comes over the Moscow Central Circle line. The trains from tracks one and two were replaced for the temporary ones, so the construction works were conducted in compliance with safety regulations. At the same time, track three continued operating, and train schedule didn’t change.  The experts came up with two methods of span assembling: by launching and by using the cranes”, – said Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.

Today the North-Eastern Chord is 80% complete, construction works are being conducted in three out of nine sections. According to the plan, the construction works will have been over by 2022.
