SECTION OF SOUTH-EASTERN CHORD FROM SHOSSEYNAYA ULITSA UP TO ULITSA POLBINA WILL HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY THE END OF 2022

The section of the South-Eastern chord from Shosseynaya ulitsa to Polbina is scheduled to be released by the end of 2022. The reconstruction of Ulitsa Polbina, being a part of the section, has already been completed. The design and engineering of the section has been developed by the engineers of Mosproekt-”, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.

“The major course of the highway in this section is currently under construction. Apart from that, there are still some operation works relating to the construction of the bypass road along the trading centre “Metro”, the construction of the piled foundations and solid retaining walls for the overpass interchange ramp as well as redevelopment of the engineering utilities. Today the object is 19% complete,” – stated Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban planning and construction.

In the long run this highway is expected to connect to the currently designed and engineered alternate route of Lyublinskaya Ulitsa, where the operation works are planned to start this year. The projects of both highways have been designed and engineered by The Group of companies Mosproekt-3. The engineers had to apply unique solutions to integrate the structures into the dense urban development.

“It turns out to be demanding and challenging to construct the interchange at the intersection of the South-Eastern chord with the alternate route of Lyublinskaya Ulitsa due to the close proximity to the operating Metro line and Big Circle section under construction, as well as the abundance of the underground urban sewage networks and rainwater drainage systems. While designing and engineering the overpasses, we applied the up-to-date modern analysis methods which enabled the experts to analyze the stress-strain state of the structures in a three-dimensional formulation and take the right constructive solutions,” – Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.

To optimize the construction, the designers and engineers set out the reinforced concrete spans. This engineering solution gives an opportunity to diminish the materials consumption and to reduce the time for construction works, meanwhile retaining the safety of the structure. To minimize the effect on the surrounding development, the overpasses’ trestles are designed and engineered from the cast reinforced concrete with the foundations on the piles.

The section of the South-Eastern chord from Shosseynaya Ulitsa up to Polbina is going to improve the traffic convenience of the districts Pechatniki, Lyublino and Tekstilshchiki, as well as to reduce the traffic intensity on Lyublinskaya Ulitsa and Volgogradsky Prospekt. It is certain to provide the comfortable gateway to the residential area alongside with the facilities of social and cultural purpose.
