DECORATIVE 3D-CEILING INSTALLATION BEGAN IN VORONTSOVSKAYA STATION

There will be decorative 3D-ceiling in “Vorontsovskaya” station (the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line). The constructors have already started to install it. The station is being constructed by the project of Mospromproekt, the company which forms a part of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.

“90 square meters have already been installed. The ceiling is assembled from 25 cm round elements, each element made from anodized polished aluminium,” said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction.

This Station became the first station of the Moscow Metro where the principles of parametric architecture were applied. It became a completely new solution at the time of its design and engineering by the engineers of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.

“We managed to realize the idea and construct a complex ceiling system consisting of individual elements by means of parametric computer programs of three-dimensional modeling. In addition, we needed precise calculations to create the lighting, the project envisages the image of the Milky Way. It was also necessary to illuminate the station evenly,” said Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3.

As a reminder, “Vorontsovskaya” Station is over 65 % complete. Two pedestrian exits and architectural finishing works are at the final stage of their construction.
