THE NORTH-EASTERN CHORD SECTION FROM DMITROVSKOYE TO YAROSLAVSKOYE HIGHWAY IS HALFWAY COMPLETE

The North-Eastern Chord section from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye Highway is 50% complete. The facility was designed by Mosproekt-3 JSC, which is a member of the same named holding company.

The new highway with no traffic lights will continue the existing section of the Chord at the Likhobory Station area, then will come along Moscow Central Circle (MCC) lines, cross Dmitrovskoye and Altufievskoye Highway and finally reach Prospekt Mira Street.

“Overpass bearings are currently under construction, span metal structures erection and main route surface section construction are also under way. The section from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye Highway is planned to be opened by the next year”, – said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

Unique conditions at one of the stages on this section required The Group of Companies Mosproekt-3 to develop nonstandard design solutions. Long span structure over the MCC lines will be erected without any traffic disruption.

“2,4 km long main route overpass crosses two Moscow Suburban Railway lines and comes along the MCC. In order not to cause any traffic disruption, our specialists considered railway temporary restructuring. During the construction period, there were used new temporary tracks built specially on this purpose. It made possible to construct an overpass in the safest and the most effective way”, – explained Anna Merkulova, The Group of Companies Mosproekt-3 CEO.
