In the conditions of an acute shortage of street and road network, The Chord Ring of Moscow is designed to provide Moscow with high-speed cross-links in the middle part of the metropolis. The Southern Rocade delicately integrated into the existing urban development will connect the western and southern parts of the city.
As the General Designer, the Group of Companies Mosproekt-3 specialists implemented the most complex section of the facility without traffic disruption on the key transport arteries of the city for the period of construction works.
The Southern Rocade intersects the operating sections of the Paveletsky Suburban Railway Line at different levels. In addition, the main route on this section is too large (contains of 5 lanes) for the construction of a span. Taking into account these factors and in order to optimize the construction, we decided to build a railway overpass through the Southern Rockada, which ensured the traffic on the key highways of the city.
