NORTH-EASTERN CHORD SECTION FROM YAROSLAVSKOYE TO DMITROVSKOYE SHOSSE IS 60% COMPLETE
The North-Eastern Chord section from Yaroslavskoye to Dmitrovskoye shosse is 60% complete. The project was developed by “Mosproekt-3”, the company which forms a part of the so named Group of companies.
“Currently the engineering structures are actively being constructed in one of the latest sections of the North-Eastern Chord, the section from Yaroslavskoye to Dmitrovskoye shosse. The construction works include piles drilling, overpasses’ trestles construction, span metal structures assembly by span launching as well. By our estimate, the section is overall 60% complete”, – said Andrey Bochkarev, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
According to the Head of Moscow Complex for Urban Planning and Construction, the interchange on the intersection of the North-Eastern Chord and Prospekt Mira will become the key structure within the construction in this section. The interchange is currently 80% complete.
“Apart from that, 2,4 km long overpass is currently being constructed. The overpass lies directly above the Moscow Central Circle line, Savyolovsky and Oktyabrskaya Suburban Railway lines. At present the bridge trestles are under construction, span assembling is also under way. There were used both cantilevering and launching methods, the launching method was used at the intersections with the railway lines”, – added Andrey Bochkarev.
Anna Merkulova, CEO of The Group of companies Mosproekt-3, previously stated that demanding conditions at one of the stages in this section required from the engineers of the Group of Companies to create non-standard design and engineering solutions: “The main route overpass has intersections with two tracks of Moscow Suburban Railway lines and goes along Moscow Central Circle, and in the half kilometer long section the engineering structure entirely covers the 3rd track of the MCC. In order not to cause any train traffic interruption, our experts provided the temporary restructure of the railway lines. For the construction period, the temporary track is used which was intentionally built for this purpose. Thus, we will be able to construct the strictures of the overpass in the safest and most effective way”.
The construction of Moscow Chords system is the largest road and transport infrastructure project in Moscow. The Group of companies Mosproekt-3 experts take an active part in the implementation of this ambitious project. Moscow Chord Circle will include North-Western, North-Eastern, South-Eastern Chord and South Rocade, the chord system is going to become the key structure in the new transport network. Moscow Chord Circle is planned to be completed by 2023.
