SPAN STRUCTURE IS ERECTED ON THE NORTH-EASTERN CHORD FLYOVER NEAR THE OKRUZHNAYA STATION
The builders have completed launching of the steelwork of the span structure of the North-Eastern Chord flyover in the area of the MCC Okruzhnaya Station. The Chord section is designed by the engineers of the Mosproekt-3 Company, which is part of the same name holding.
“The slips has been dismantled. Launching work continues on two more sections of the flyover,” Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction, said.
The flyover planning length is 2382 meters. It crosses the section of the Oktyabrskaya Railway, a connecting railway line, the Dmitrovskoe Highway and the Savyolovsky suburban railway line. There are three lanes in each direction on the flyover.
Other sections of the flyover are being fitted with metal structures, paved pavement and waterproofing.
Head of the Moscow Construction Department Rafik Zagrutdinov said that it’s planned to build 17.9 km of roads on the section of the North-Eastern Chord from the Yaroslavskoe to the Dmitrovskoe Highways, including three main flyovers and two exit flyovers with a total length of more than 5 km. Mr. Zagrutdinov also added that reconstruction of the bridge over the Yauza River and construction of three bridges over the Likhoborka River are also planned.
As Anna Merkulova, General Director of Group of Companies Mosproekt-3, explained earlier, the finishing stages of the North-East Chords are complicated by the abundance of railway infrastructure. The Mosproekt-3 engineers applied various technologies to lay the main line without stopping traffic on the MCC – from the method of launching during process windows to temporary reconstruction of tracks.
